Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline

Dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline, a collagen specific amino acid, improves skins barrier function and helps tighten the lipid matrix. It works to stimulate the contraction of collagen fibres and protect against the degradation of elastin, as well as shielding cells from environmental damage due to its antioxidative activity. This in turn leads to a strengthened barrier for hydrated skin, and an improvement in skin firmness and tone.
