Polyglucoronic Acid
Polyglucuronic acid is an oligosaccharide that stimulates the skins natural production of hyaluronic acid. Like collagen, the amount of naturally occurring hyaluronic acid within the skin degrades with age, resulting in dehydrated and less-elastic complexions. When applied topically, hyaluronic acid can struggle to effectively penetrate the deeper layers of the dermis, if it has a large molecule size. Through optimising the skins natural production, polyglucuronic acid benefits the skin by improving and retaining cell moisture content for a hydrated and supple complexion. It also repairs the skin barrier to prevent against transepidermal water loss whilst reducing fine lines and wrinkles through promoting water retention within cells.
